How NAFA Was Formed

On the 2nd May 1975 a number of Agents from different industries met and discussed the merits of forming an association to look after the interest of agents.

The inaugural meeting took place on September 19th, 1975 with a total membership of 112 agents of whom 60 were from the fashion industry. Eventually the fashion agents formed their own association and the furniture agents continued as the MAA for a number of years.

In May 1991 it was decided to incorporate the association. On the 25th October 1991 an extraordinary meeting decided the change to name of the MAA to the National Association of Furniture Agents (Inc.)
